Zest Kitchen & Bar is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Salt Lake City. A competitive audit revealed that many plant-based restaurants in the area leaned toward a family-diner aesthetic. To differentiate Zest, I positioned the brand in a fresher, more contemporary space, intentionally appealing to college students and a younger, design-conscious audience.

The couple who owns Zest is Indian, so I built a color palette that felt vibrant and culturally resonant. Deep greens and fizzy oranges subtly nod to their roots while reinforcing the restaurant’s vibrant menu.

I later developed the website, sourcing photography and implementing a bento-style grid system that reflects the brand’s cheeky, playful tone while maintaining clarity and structure.
